March 21 – Review by Stefan – SKYRYDER: Vol. 2 (High Roller Records / Sure Shot Worx)

“New Wave Of British Heavy Metal is a metal movement that arose after the waning popularity of punk in England in the late 1970s”, this is how NWOBHM is formulated on the Internet. It was the basis of many other metal genres that showed up in the early 80’s, I am still nostalgic for that period because of the many good memories regarding  companionship, tolerance, having fun those days; we were one big family when it came down to it. Bonded by rock and metal we could handle the world, so to speak.

The band that is now in the spotlight derives from England and was formed in 2016. Skyryder is a five piece act following the tradition of the still coveted gem called NWOBHM. They made their debut in the metal scene with the EP, simple entitled “Vol. 1” which, according to other sources, was a very interesting product. I’m unfortunately not familiar with their debut but lucky bastard I am, just received Skyryder’s second output “Vol. 2”. After a few listening sessions, I feel I need to share my opinion with you….
